In April 1995, a team of professional snowboarders travelled to Ammassalik Island, in southeast Greenland, to shoot a ride film among mountains, sea ice, fjords and icebergs. Among them was 10-year-old Mathieu Crepel. Spotted for his precocious talent, he lived through a raw experience, immersed in the wild and in an Inuit community with which he formed a special bond through the simple games he played with the other children of the village. Those moments, as spontaneous as they were fleeting, became a founding moment of his life.

Thirty years later, after a life of competing as an athlete and travelling as an adventurer, Mathieu returns to Ammassalik, retracing his own footsteps in search of his childhood memories, which he confronts with his adult awareness. As he pursues this quest, he gradually discovers the reality of Inuit youth, befriending Knud, a young tour guide, and his fiancée Tuuta. They embody the tensions of a young generation of Greenlanders. Torn between attachment to tradition and the pull of modernity, they are searching for their place in the world. Through their story and Mathieu's, the film explores encounters with others and the passage from childhood to adulthood.
